The Lindy Solar Project is a 10 megawatt (MW) ground mount project. The project is under development by Geronimo Energy, will utilize polycrystalline solar modules across approximately 60 – 70 acres, and will connect to the local distribution grid. The Lindy Solar Project is located in Morrison County, Minnesota, the home of infamous pilot, Charles A. Lindbergh. It will produce nearly 16,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) and offset an estimated 25,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions each year.

Operational Capacity: 10 megawatts (MW)
Location: Morrison County, MN Morrison County, MN
Project Developer: Geronimo Energy
Construction Timeline: 2014-2015
Local Production Tax Revenue: up to $19,800 annually (Based on MN Production Tax for large wind-energy electricity generating systems: 80% to counties and 20% to cities and townships)

The Lindy Solar project will not only provide substantial carbon offsets, but it will also help provide peak energy and capacity during high summer demand periods. Additionally, diversification of energy production will help hedge against unpredictable fuel prices over the coming years. The unique design of Lindy will deliver many other benefits including a reduction in line loss, reduction of transmission costs, geographic diversification of generation – and it will be a cost effective alternative to fossil fuel resources.
